PhotoSynthetique Fun Fact #1
Since February 25, 2010 (the date I purchased my most recently filled 1.5TB hard drive, which is now in the closet with the others), I have taken approximately 59,000 photos.
That's kind of a lot, I think.

Kim at Home
One of the very first models I ever worked with, Kim H. and I have done quite a few shoots over the years. I love her to death and always enjoy working with her. This particular image was created a few days ago during a portfolio building shoot that you will likely see more images from in the next couple of weeks!

Late post today.
I was actually in the middle of composing my daily photoblog post last night when my internet got knocked out by the storm. I only just got a signal back about an hour ago. So instead of the image I was going to post, you instead get a nice shot of the backyard right now, including the big branch that must have come down sometime this morning. According to CNN, this is a "near-hurricane force" storm.
Tomorrow morning you'll get the image that was intended for today.

Ask Me a Question!
I would really like this blog to be about more than just the photos and I've begun to create a list of possible topics that I could cover in the future. As I was doing this, it occurred to me that perhaps my friends could help! So I've created a Formspring account specifically so that anyone can ask me a question about anything they find interesting and perhaps I can make those the subjects of future blog posts. Maybe there's a photo of mine that you would like to know the background of? Or there was an effect that I used that you would like to replicate? Go ahead and even ask newbie photography questions! Or feel free to ask personal questions as well, as it is important when choosing a photographer to pick one that you feel comfortable with and if knowing more about me helps, then I'm all for it!
You could even suggest ideas for photos that you would like to see me create. Have fun with it!
So go ahead, Ask me anything!

Giebel Family
This is my very old friend Matt and his family ('Nita and Gabriel), and taken at the Munsinger Rose Gardens in St. Cloud, MN. They're super cute and fun to shoot with!
If you would like to have some beautiful images taken of your family, send me an email today and I can find a package that works for you. I specialize in beautiful, fun family images that don't look like they were taken at JCPenney and they make a great Christmas gift!

Help a model out!
Jen Wyman is a model and friend who I work with not often enough. She creates wonderful images and is a total professional. She's looking for help in trying to win a shoot with Fashion One, so if you wouldn't mind, she and I would both appreciate if you were to do the following (I just did it and it seriously took less than a minute):
Obviously, you need a Facebook account to participate. Thanks everyone!1. Follow this link and "like" the Fashion One page.

Inara in the Orchard
Last year, Michelle suggest the wonderful idea of visiting an apple orchard. So we had checked out the Minnetonka Orchards in Minnetrista. It's a really fun, gorgeous place. Sadly, we went this year and we couldn't pick our own apples! It hadn't occurred to any of us that harvest season probably started early this year due to the weird weather. We still had a great time though, as Danielle, Carla, Brian, Corben, Amy and two of her kids were all there to help us enjoy it!

Nazara in an Alleyway
This was my first shoot with Nazara, and she was absolutely wonderful. Her first time modeling, she did an amazing job and we were blessed with perfect weather, light and timing. I was going to wait and share them via my daily photoblog (on Posterous), but I just can't wait and had to show you all at least one!

Carla Haglund, 2010
My recreation of a photo of Barbra Streisand by Cecil Beaton. The model is my good friend, fellow photographer and studiomate Carla Haglund. You can check out her amazing work over at her site, Fairshadow Photography.
