Inara's Birthday 2010

Another late entry, these images were taken on and around Inara's golden birthday on 11/4.  She was a little sweetie to everyone and was so happy!  This was right on the heels of having her test for school placement and having her totally blow away their tests.  She was ranking extremely high even for a kid several years older than she is.  I couldn't possibly be more proud of her than I am.  She just gets more and more amazing every day!

Halloween 2010

I've been so swamped with photos to edit lately that my editing queue got a bit backed up.  The next couple of days will have several images per post to make up for that!  These are from Halloween this year, of which there were only a few because I spent most of our time out this year shooting video and helping Inara have a great time!  She was incredibly brave about trick or treating this year and had a blast!  In case you missed it the first time I posted it, here's the video I shot:

Well, I did say "Ask Me Anything!"

From my Formspring inbox:

why does your photography suck so much? Your seamless paper is a fucking joke.

Haha!  Well, to answer your question:  I don't know, I'm not Platon?  Without giving reference I have no idea what you're comparing my work to.  I assume that this was supposed to be hurtful, and it might have been if you were able to give some sort of comparison, but it's far too general for me to really take it seriously.  Sucks compared to what?  Compared to Edward Weston's work?  For sure, dude.  I couldn't imagine ever filling those shoes, and I'm not likely to ever do so.  Compared to your Grandma Ellie's photos?  Without a link, I couldn't say.  Maybe she's really talented?  If I were to give you some constructive criticism, it would be that you need to be a bit more thoughtful with your random insults.

I'm pretty positive I know who left this comment though, and so for anyone who thinks "Who would leave a comment like that?  What a fucking douchebag!",  I can assure you that yes, he is.  He's never actually met me nor worked with me, but doesn't have much going on in his life and hates "geeks".  I posted this here because I wanted to be clear with him that his continued harassment of me (and others) over the last few years is really more funny than intimidating.  If he (or anyone else) has any more questions for me, I'd love to hear them!

Ready for Fun

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's an image I took at the Two Harbors Historical Depot this past weekend.  I hope everyone is having a very happy and safe holiday, I'm looking forward to gorging myself and spending time with the family!

Drayke as an iPad advertisement

Part of a school assignment.  Also, for those who are fellow iPad owners, wasn't Monday's iOS 4.2 update awesome?

If you are seeing this elsewhere, you will likely have to visit my photoblog to see this animated!

Michelle and I in Duluth

A small segment of "Michelle and Drayke's Epic Duluth Adventure, Part 3".  This weekend was definitely one of the highlights of my life.  I'm constantly amazed by how happy I am in nearly every aspect and my lovely lady is a big part of that.  I feel so incredibly lucky to have her and all the other wonderful people that surround me!

I'll be posting plenty more soon, right after I get caught up on all the myriad other things I have to edit yet!  Don't worry, it's all being worked upon!

A Little Behind the Scenes

I would like to do this more often, maybe take some great behind the scenes video.  Here it is Raven Danzig on her "serial killer" shoot from last week.  I'm hoping to post some great photos soon, just as soon as I've finished the papers due this week!

Minneapolis

I take a lot of skyline images, I love Minneapolis.  :D

She's So Cute

Today is a Special Day

Today is the birthday of the most wonderful woman I have ever met.  Michelle is so incredibly beautiful, caring, loving, thoughtful, nurturing and all around amazing that it sometimes seems beyond belief that I get to spend my life with her.  She can make any situation, no matter how awful or stressful into a positive.  She always sees the goodness in people and can make new friends in any place or time without effort.   She always draws out the best in those around her and makes people feel at home.  I don't know where I would be without her.

Happy Birthday, my love!  Here's to many, many more spent together!

Holiday Portrait Special

Hi Everyone!

It's a beautiful time of year, as it just starts to begin snowing, the leaves have all fallen and Minnesota slowly transforms into a Winter Wonderland.  As such, I would really love to take some photos out in this gorgeous weather!  So what I am doing is offering dirt-cheap portrait sessions in celebration of the holidays!  Only $80 for a portrait session, this includes the high resolution images with a license to use them online, make prints, whatever you want to do with them, the only catch is that the shoot must be outdoors to capture the wonderful season!

Would you like a family portrait for your Christmas cards?  Looking to add some killer new looks for your portfolio?  Whatever the case may be, email or call today to set up a session!  Times will likely fill quickly and there's only so much time left before the end of the year, so I hope to hear from you soon!

Stomping around Downtown

After dance class, Inara thought it would be fun to stomp around in the snow.

Not Sure How I Feel About This Yet

My pitiful attempt at a Novembeard is now a Movember.   It's slightly less sad, but more 80's.
